David Sits Down With Bandmate + Multi-Instrumentalist Ilan Rubin

David sits down with Ilan Rubin (Drummer of Angels & Airwaves + Nine Inch Nails) to reminisce on the origins of their friendship, our collaborative Good Morning Blend, and how they began bonding over coffee while touring through Europe back in 2011-2012. David mentions trying to put down a deposit for what would become the very first James Coffee Co. roaster and having to wire money from Europe in order to purchase it.

Ilan reminds David of his interesting relationship to caffeine when he used to drink four quad shot vanilla lattes a day. This, like many of us, was Ilan's first introduction to coffee. David touches base on how many of us start sweet, then slowly ease our way into the black coffee lifestyle.

Now an avid coffee lover and connoisseur, Ilan and David wanted to come up with a way to bridge the gap of their friendship, bond over coffee, and their shared love for music. Soon to become our first collaborative coffee, The Ilan Rubin signature, Good Morning Blend.

Ilan talks about how he came up with the name for the blend when he wanted to do a cover of The Beatles Good Morning, Good Morning. After messing around with the track a few times and getting his hands on every Beatles plug-in he could find, Ilan thought it would be the perfect namesake for his first blend with James.

Check out the entire video to get the full scoop on Ilan + David's chat and don't forget to pick up a bag of our relaunched and rebranded Good Morning Blend
